About
Amelia (creator of Silver Butter) first started experimenting with mix metals just before lock down. Starting out simply with a soldering iron, solder, and gems
stones. Quite memorised by the organic textures created by buttering the solder over the sides of gem stones.
~
This soon transitioned into the “Lost wax” Casting method, A old school silver smithing method that enables more flexibly to the designs such as when sculpting with soft substances like clay.
During this time Amelia studied Graphic Design & illustration at Enmore TAFE in Sydney. Developing an intricate style of designs that’s shaped her work for Silver Butter. After finishing her studies, while still creating graphics the jewellery continued.
~
Inspired by advancing technology, Amelia wishes to incorporate the digital world more into her line of work, further progressing her skill set with programs such as CAD and Blender to create digital moulds that incorporate her intricate illustrations and ideas. Influenced by fluidity and anatomy, Silver Butter also incorporates a blend of gothic grunge, medieval art styles and futuristic ideas.
While Silver Butter is still a young brand experimenting with different techniques and a varieties of ambitious ideas, expect to see Silver Butter eventually go beyond just jewellery.
